Design & Strategy Team

CAD (Computer Aided Design) using Onshape Requirement: General Laptop, Mouse.

Design and brainstorm robots based on previous years and other teams’ CAD and adapt strategies.
Prototype different mechanisms and make specific new parts to add to the mechanisms if needed
Collaborate with fabrication to find the best suited design.
Use physics and run simulation on the best part design.
Optimize mechanisms to be more versatile, stronger, and faster.
Formulate competition strategy.

After getting our game video, we discussed:

- 1. Key game strategies
  2. Important rules
  3. Previous years game analyses
  4. Brainstormed possible mechanisms

As we understood what our robot needs to do, we designed 2D sketches and Krayon CAD

After rigorous game analysis and concept sketching, we developed our ideas through:

- Block CAD:
- Simplistic design to prototype ideas and experiment with new designs without committing
Prototyping:
- Hands on experimentation to decide if ideas a viable and make adjustments
